AI Policy – Nordic-Baltic Region

Ministers from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania Norway, Sweden, and the Åland Islands issued a declaration of collaboration on AI in May 2018, “AI in the Nordic-Baltic region“. The policy objective of the initiative is to “Develop and promote the use of artificial intelligence to serve humans better.” The countries aim to collaborate on skill development, data access, standards and principles, ensuring the role of AI in the European Digital Single Market, avoiding unnecessary regulation, and utilizing the Nordic Council of Ministers to facilitate collaboration.
