Landon Klein is the Director of U.S. Policy for the Future of Life Institute. Prior to joining FLI, Landon served as Principal Consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Privacy & Consumer Protection, where he analyzed and advised on legislation concerning issues related to data privacy, surveillance, cybersecurity, social media, and artificial intelligence.

Landon entered the world of public policy through the California Council on Science & Technology’s Science & Technology Policy Fellowship, completing his fellowship with the California State Assembly Judiciary Committee. Landon studied Biology and Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received a Ph.D. in Neurosciences from the University of California, San Diego.
