Advisor: Dawn Song and Stuart Russell

Samyak is a PhD student at UC Berkeley. He is currently interested in understanding the learning dynamics of neural networks and the priors at initialization which together enable neural networks to generalize well. He believes that understanding generalization is critical for designing models aligned with human values. Previously, Samyak was a research fellow at Microsoft Research India and an intern at Five AI and Krueger AI Safety Lab at the University of Cambridge. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s in computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi.
