Ashima is a Fellow at FLI, where she focuses on research, strategic engagement, and relationship-building with policymakers on international AI governance. Previously, she was a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgetown University’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), where she analyzed U.S. state-level AI governance and military applications of AI. Before her time at Georgetown, she was a research assistant at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace India. There, she supported U.S.–India tech cooperation under the initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET), including organizing Track 1.5 dialogues between policymakers and industry experts. Ashima holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy, a BA (Honors) in Political Science with a minor in International Relations, and a postgraduate diploma in Mandarin Chinese.
