
Angelica Fernandez
Biography
Angelica Fernandez is the EU Policy Advocate for the Future of Life Institute. Before joining FLI, she conducted research on AI regulation at the Department of Law of the University of Luxembourg, where she is currently pursuing a PhD. The focus of her doctoral research is centered on the regulation of AI and online platforms. Additionally, she researches and publishes on various AI-related topics, such as deepfakes, dark patterns, and encryption. Prior to her experience as a researcher, she worked for more than six years in the policy and public sector in Canada.
She holds an LL.M in Space, Communication, and Media Law from the University of Luxembourg, where she was awarded the Barreau of Luxembourg Prize, and a Master's degree from Université Paris-Sorbonne 1 and SciencesPo Bordeaux. She speaks English, French, and Spanish.
