Upcoming volunteer tree planting events
Trees for the 21st Century is a unique educational and tree-planting program for children ages 6 to 18, involving a science-based curriculum, tree planting, and ongoing stewardship activities.
This initiative aims to teach children about the value of the environment; expand the world inventory of trees to protect and improve natural resources; and to help children value long term stewardship of trees, Earth's "perfect organic machines."
In 2007, the Future of Life, Inc. (FOL) announced a nationwide tree planting collaboration with the Girl Scouts of the USA coinciding with the Girl Scouts' 95th anniversary celebration. FOL provided Girl Scout Councils with 95 trees, and 147 councils in 47 states signed up to plant trees through this program, engaging thousands of girls.
